2016 marked the last year for Symbiosis at Woodward Reservoir. 20,000 revelers said their goodbyes to the beautiful peninsula, jamming to all types of music from Beats Antique‘s midnight theatrical to my new favorite Delhi 2 Dublin. Despite having grown in attendance by 3,000 from last year, it still very much felt like a big, weird family reunion, with people (and mermaids) of all ages and tastes. In fact, families got campsites closest to the festival right next to Kidsbiosis, creating an inclusion I’ve never seen at any festival (yes, including Burning Man).
The Virtual Rave commemorates the last year at Woodward, flying high over the festival in this 360 video. Co-Organizer Kevin Kochen narrates the experience and gives a sneak peak into the magic of next year’s event in Oregon. Check it out in Gear VR or Google Cardboard for a fully immersive experience.
