Joshua Mellody (could his name be any more perfect?), better known by his stage name Zomboy, is an English dubstep producer who has been one of the industry’s leading players for half a decade now. Ever since the release of his album titled “the Outbreak” in 2014, Zomboy has been headlining festivals around the world and producing some of the heaviest music out there.
Coming off the huge success of his last EP, “Neon Grave”, Zomboy has released his newest single titled “Invaders”. As the first track on the Never Say Die Records “Black Label XXL” album (to be released Sep 23rd), “Invaders” is as heavy and filthy as you would hope and expect. His last single, “Like a B**ch” was the first track on the last NSD album (Never Say Die Vol. 4) and set the pace for what turned out to be one of (if not) the best dubstep albums of the year.
Back once again, twice this time, with two new ooey gooey trap heaters; oh shit whaddup! It’s dat Boi! Troyboi! This immensely unique and talented London trap producer has been making a name for himself as the original curator of one of the newest and more exciting musical styles in the electronic music world. Calling the genre he produces “My Style”, his use of a combination of elements from trap, hip hop, and rnb truly are unparalleled by any others in the industry. His two latest songs “Grimey” and “Wallz” are perfect example of his style.
Uploaded to his Soundcloud late last week, “Grimey” is another instant classic Troyboi slap. Reminiscent of one of his most popular songs “Do You?”, this one starts out with a very simple drum stick pattern beneath an eerie violin, which quickly collapses with a drum fill into a goopy bass line.
His other new track this week, came out on Monday Aug 29, the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s birthday. The new song “Wallz” is a cover/remix for the classic MJ song “Off the Wall”. Once again Troyboi managed to put his own one of a kind twist on a track, giving an electronic breath of fresh air! You can catch Troyboi this weekend this weekend at Nocturnal Wonderland in SoCal, as well as on his upcoming Mantra Tour where he will be covering most of the entire country!
