Vincent, formerly known as XVII, has been well known to blur the lines between trap and future bass. As a classically trained pianist, Vincent has been known for his melodic compositions, but also for his hard hitting trap bangers. His latest track “Her” is an excellent example of Vincent’s melodic side. The track starts with an encaptivating piano intro before progressing into a much more powerful cinematic sound, as if to invoke the feeling of falling in love. Vincent demonstrates his immense talent with his use of an echoing vocal sample, drum synths, and piano riffs to create such an emotional song.
Chet Porter‘s latest release with one of my favorite collectives, Moving Castle, “tbh ily“. The track features a soft dreamy melody accompanied by interesting samples and a slow beat in the signature Chet Porter style, to make for a whimsically romantic track.
Louis Futon just released a new track today titled “Wasted On You” on Odesza’s Foreign Family Collective, known for featuring some of the best of rising stars such as Jai Wolf, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and Kasbo. The new track is a collaboration between Louis Futon and Rozes, now known for hit collaboration with The Chainsmokers. Futon complements Rozes’ strong vocals with his smooth synths, creating a groovy vibe throughout the track.
Dillon Francis & Kygo’s “Coming Over” collaboration just had a series of official remixes released including one by CRNKN. The LA-based producer presents a unique flip of the track, changing the whimsical vibe but still retains a melodic feel though with a much harder hitting bass sound through CRNKN’s complex synth layers. CRNKN’s sound is really captured through the heavier beats and distorted vocals.
