Santa Skrillex has come rushing down the chimney to deliver us all the gift of great music! Skrillex just released a remix of his own original track “Stranger”, and its easily one of the most beautiful tracks I’ve heard all year.
Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex, has once again proven why he is considered by many to be one of the best producers alive. His absolutely incredible range of musical talent was once again tapped into for this most recent release. As a seasoned veteran in the electronic world and a bass music master, Skrillex has uncountable stellar dubstep, trap, and electro tracks. This new one however is unlike anything he’s ever released.
The original track, which is also shown above, came off of Skrillex’s third studio album titled “Recess”. The song features the deep, smooth vocals of Sam Dew. The original is a bone chilling, spine tingling, hybrid trap slasher which features a drop that comes out of nowhere, ejecting the listener out of their own mind and straight into the stratosphere. After the first Earth shattering drop, the tempo slows down for a drawn our chorus. This is followed by a half time drop which features a revolutionary growling bass line that Skrillex fans have become so accustomed to with his music.
Now Skrillex has gone and remixed his own track, twisting it and turning it upside down with an utterly different feel to it. This new chilled out remix features beautiful piano work throughout, as well as angelic orchestral background music. Besides being sped up a bit, the lyrics and vocals are almost completely unchanged.
But it wasn’t just the song that Skrillex released. Along with the new rendition of his track, he also released an extremely artistic music video for it as well. And the best part of it all? Both the song and the video are free! He is however asking for donations, where you have the option to name your own price for the song. All of the proceeds from the song will be divided evenly and given to The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Bridges For Music, and Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community. This man is easily one of my biggest role models. He is such a huge inspiration to me, in all facets of life. Musically, artistically, but mainly as a person. I’ve never once heard of him being selfish or rude to others. When you listen to him talk, you can truly feel the genuine compassion that he has over flowing from his heart. We need a lot more people like him, both in the music industry and in the rest of the world as well.
