Illenium came out of nowhere and surprised us all with this new track! Titled “Jester” his new collaboration with Chilled Velvet is a complete change of pace for the normal Illenium we all know and love. For reference, there’s a track he released about five months ago at the bottom; a remix of a Kill Paris track titled Operate. Nicholas Miller, aka Illenium is a Colorado native who got his first big break into the scene just a few months ago when he won Kaskade’s “Disarm You” remix contest. His melodic dubstep work has been likened to a lighter version of Seven Lions by many listeners.
This new original track he just released with Chilled Velvet is something totally out of the ordinary for him though. It begins with a future bass sounding introduction, which quickly transforms into a blend of deep, tropical, and trapy bass. An airy piano chord progression gives the song a small taste of that magical sound Illenium so often brings to his work. Check out his new track above and hear for yourself!
And in case you’re worried that Illenium will be falling away from the melodic dubstep style that his fans so love, rumor has it that he has a new album coming out soon that is almost exclusively melodic dubstep!
