Sometimes the most interesting tech tracks pop up in the strangest of places. This week we take a look at some great soundcloud producers that should definitely be on your radar.
Los Angeles based, Ducky, was a rave kid in high school and that comes through in her work. Her weekly Rave Toolz series full of 90s nostalgia and her originals shine in their own melancholic way. Her latest EP, Lost Angeles, released on NEST HQ feels like a mixture of Random Album Title-era Deadmau5, Four Tet, and Holly Herndon rolled up into one delectable package. “Rain Dance’s” filtered melody gives it a vintage feel as if you were listening to it on vinyl while staring out a rainy window, snuggled up in a blanket.
If you haven’t heard of Trekkie Track that is a big problem and you need to go listen their entire discography right now. I’ll wait….ok, caught up? Good. Label co-founder Carpainter has a remix pack coming out for his latest release and one of the most insane remixes comes from him. His ‘Dibidibi Schranz’ remix of “Radarman” is the closest tech you’ll find to Hardcore and feels like it could all fall apart at any moment. Somehow Carpainter just barely holds it together to furiously spectacular results.
And this weeks final selection comes via the nightcore label, NITE CORP. If your not familiar with nightcore please read this. Recently the label has been putting out a couple original tracks on their compilations. One of those comes from Berlin producer flökosH ░▒▓ who’s track “Speedlink” is a cute tech-y number full of helium whizzes and deep wobbly bass. An unexpected gem hidden in another subculture of the internet, “speedlink” is a whimsical surprise.
