Influential Aussie duo Hermitude released their take on Alison Wonderland’s “Games” last week, dropping a low-key buildup in a heavy trap beat. Hermitude is famous for inspiring the likes of Flume and many other Aussie artists, including Alison. You can always rely on them for innovative and unexpected turn up tunes, and be sure to catch their upcoming Webster Hall performance.
There are not enough good things I can about with Rusy Hook’s latest track, “Drip.” The intro is softly melodic, the drop unexpected and beautifully mixed. The transitions are smooth, the drops familiar yet fresh. Rusty Hook never fails to deliver.
Here’s a preview of the unreleased Dillon Francis / What So Not collab, apparently titled “Arrows.” I had to post it after finding the live rip as I heard Emoh drop it in both his Mad Decent Block Party and Moonrise sets to cheers and screams of joy from the audience. It’s obvious why. This drop hits harder than anything else I’ve heard live this summer. This, of course is due to its excellent beat mixing and that totally unpredictable, super-delayed drop.
