This week we keep you up to date with the creme-de-la-creme of tech tracks that have been released recently. We have music from BLANC90, Justin Jay, and Tech Tuesday newcomers Dusky. So turn up the bass on those nice speakers you just bought and settle into the beat.
Mysterious Main Course producer BLANC90 resurfaced this week with a new dance-floor heater. “Delusion” is full of warped warehouse sounds with muffled basslines and truncated kicks wrapped up in a nice tech house package. Its warehouse-y sound design give the track a vintage feel throwing back to smoky basement clubs and underground raves of days gone-by. Free for a limited time, make sure to snap this one up while you can.
Bright young star Justin Jay is by far the youngest artist on Dirtybird’s roster at 22. To celebrate his recent college graduation he’s returned with a new EP aptly titled “Mom, I Graduated!” If the lead track “Hit It” is any indication of what to expect then we are in for quite a treat. The clunking piano chords and lanrge-and-in-charge bass combine to create one hell of a stomper. Expect to hear this one played out a lot at your next Dirtybird-sponsored event.
And to round out this week’s selection, we have a duo more well known for their deep house exploits but have recently ventured into the techier side. Dusky’s “Parakeet Feet” is a twinkling little techno number that lightly flits around the full-bodied rolling kick. Shimmering like tiny little stars in the night sky, the various synthlines create a dreamy ambiance that nicely counteracts the sweaty techno rhythm. A well crafted track from the British duo, I look forward to seeing more tech from them in the future.
