GOLDWATER is an up and coming future trap artist you should definitely keep an eye on. His remix of Misogi & Andrea’s “LOVE U” brings the track to another level of creativity. It’s very chill, but also exciting because of its constantly evolving progression. Excellent mixing, beat manipulation, and measured synth work makes this track a real pleasure.
Falcons put on a great live show, but I haven’t heard a stellar release from them in a while. They picked an excellent collab in man-of-the-hour Goldlink, who goes in for a verse and the hook. This is definitely a Hip Hop beat in the classical sense that elevates and supports the verses and creates a great atmosphere. It’s also worth noting- it wasn’t long ago that this track would have been released as “Goldlink & Chaz French (prod. by Falcons)” It’s something we already take for granted, but Isn’t it great that producers can become appreciated as individual artists and not just support?
Man, I remember when RL Grime was Trap’s best-kept secret. Look how far he’s come. This week he released his VIP edit of “Scylla,” which I think was definitely called for. As the premiere banger on his Void album, I think people were ready to hear a spiced up version at live shows. And he does not disappoint; this one really goes in.
I love an artist who’s unafraid to break genre barriers, and London’s favorite future-trap star Troyboi is definitely one of them. In his remix of Tinie Tempah’s “Not Letting Go.” The production really stands out against the verses and hook, and be sure to listen through 2:30, when the trap beat morphs into future house! Love to hear it.
