Looking to book a trip somewhere warm and welcoming? Do you like music, art, self-expression, a sense of absolute acceptance, and enriching educational activities? It’s a good thing that the 5th annual Envision Festival is returning to the breathtaking shores of Uvita, Costa Rica, February 26-March 1, to kick off the 2015 festival season! Let’s be real, you don’t find many festivals in the United States that are set in a lush coastal jungle. What better way to spend your spring break than attending a spiritually cleansing and eco-friendly celebration aimed to awaken each human’s inner potential?
Believe me when I say this exotic festival has a lot to offer. There will be four stages with over 50 international musicians, yoga classes, local “adventure tours“, live painters, fortune tellers, acrobats, clowns, hoopers, fire dancers, poi performers, and beautiful people just like you. Needless to say, they are offering plenty of entertaining activities for people of all ages. In addition there are beaches, bars, restaurants, massage huts, tea lounges, pools, and more for you to get your chill on.
Genres will range from Electronic to Hip-Hop to Folk, encompassing everything in-between. Music headliners include Groundation, Phaeleh, The Polish Ambassador, Emancipator, Ott., The Funk Hunters, Bluetech, Wildlight, Random Rab, Dimond Saints and Ken Jordan (The Crystal Method). Envision Festival hopes to unite people, allowing various cultures to mingle, co-exist in harmony, and appreciate the world around them. Their staff is dedicated to ensuring that all attendees respect the land and run this event with sustainability in mind.
“Envision is a Leave No Trace event, and we therefore always leave the land in as good if not better condition than we found it. We try to minimize waste sent to the landfills and maximize recycling and composting rates, conserve water as much as possible, mitigate our atmospheric impact from transportation and energy, source only environmentally-sound products and materials, and we always maintain positive relations with our surrounding community.”
Okay, I get it. You might have work, or school, or any other of the dozens of responsibilities we all carry. Perhaps you can’t up-and-go straight to Costa Rica on short notice. Well, for those lucky West Coast-ers, the journey to Costa Rica actually begins in Los Angeles. The official Pre-Party is to be held at Luminous Movement featuring the vibey sounds of KAMINANDA, Imagika Om, and NiceFingers on January 28, 2015 Zanzibar in Santa Monica.
A frequent performer at festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, Burning man, Shambala, and the like, Kaminanda is the type of musician who likes to paint a portrait in your mind with his intricate melodies and riveting compositions. His songs can be smooth and sexy or dark and powerful. His goal is to guide you on a journey and explore the natural flow of light and dark in our lives.
Imagika Om plays music that has a definite ancient earthy vibe. Her sets tend emanate a mystical and sacred atmosphere. The creator of a unique genre called OMstep, she incorporates hints of dubstep and layers of bass to fuse sounds from all around the world into a soulful and divine masterpiece.
Members Nick Waterhouse and Dave Schneider are relatively small fish in a big pond, but they have every reason to be making a name for themselves. Their music is uplifting and airy, yet has a steady kick of energy to it. Their harmonies are sweet and funky, enveloping you in an ethereal state of bliss.
Kisses and Kandi,
