Coachella is back after releasing their lineup yesterday morning, and although I could be more excited about the headliners the lineup is stacked. The headlining performance is rarely the climax of my festival experience anyways. The first day includes some big names like Flying Lotus, Porter Robinson, DJ Snake, and Caribou, as well as some smaller artists like Gorgon City, Jon Hopkins, Squarepusher, Keys N Krates, and MK.
The second day comes with a larger number of electronic acts, with big names like Sebastian, Ratatat, Flosstradamus, and SBTRKT, followed by more smaller acts like Tycho, Chet Faker, Toro y Moi, Jungle, Glass Animals, Alison Wonderland, The Gaslamp Killer Experience, Loco Dice, Gramatik, What So Not, Yellow Claw, Cashmere Cat, and Until the Ribbon Breaks.
The third and final day continues strong with Madeon, Kygo, Odesza, Gesaffelstein, RAC, Jamie XX, Duke Dumont, J.E.S.&.S (Jackmaster, Eats Everything, Skream, and Seth Troxler), Kaytranada, Dubfire, Annie Mac, and last but definitely not least the Claudefather Claude Vonstroke.
Ok, there’s the list now here are my initial thoughts on it. Flying Lotus, Porter Robinson, Caribou, and SBTRKT have all recently released amazing albums, so as far as some of the bigger names on this list they are definitely worth checking out for that reason.
Delving deeper into the list, Gorgon City came onto my radar around 6 months ago and have only continued to become more relevant since. They deliver hard hitting sets of UK garage influenced House so if you find yourself wanting to get down on the first day, check out some Gorgon City. Have a taste below.
Another artist who is relatively new to me but has but destroying shit recently is Alison Wonderland. Apparently she has been doing very well in the charts in Australia for the past few years, and in 2014 got to #1 on Hypemachine for her single ‘I Want U’. Be sure to check her set.
Note: This list is focused on electronic acts and doesn’t include artists I would want to see that don’t fit within the ‘electronic’ label.
Stay saucy coachillers,
