Ambient, neurofunk, liquid, drumstep…the list goes on. But here, this week, we are diving into the deep depths of your inner psyche. Yes. By means of this dark-ass underground drum and bass music that sounds like drugs.
Although most dark dnb ups the tempo insanely high with hard drums and extreme but simple melodies, this producer has established a simplistic yet dark/hardcore sound to dnb that takes the music out of the raves and into your dark room.
The Bristol-based drum and bass DJ and producer, Clarity, has just released some tracks that embody this sound. His latest EP, Hell’s Gate, is just what you need to ruin a bright shiny mood and turn it into deep deep…deep thought.
All of the tracks share the same vibe, same sounds, but differ in the slightest of ways. It really makes you carefully listen and appreciate the simplicity in pure noise, as well as how he’s arranged the sounds. Beats can be deep after all.
