If you’ve been on the internet at all this week, you’ve seen Avril Lavigne’s new music video for “Hello Kitty” plaguing social media sites. As the already viral video is offensive on a few levels and an obvious embarrassment for the 29-year-old’s fading career, it makes sense that it didn’t take long for someone to remix it. Three days in fact. Take a listen to Barely Alive and Twine’s dubstep remix of “Hello Kitty” that actually makes the song listenable with a dirty drop into triplets. They even include the original song’s faux dubstep “drop” for a few seconds before it is cut off by some actually well-produced sound. The only description Barely Alive left on Soundcloud is “We are so sorry.”
If you haven’t watched the “Hello Kitty” music video out of curiosity yet, I suggest you do so now. Good luck.
May the bass be ever in your face,
